About the area
A name older than Parramatta's own
North Rocks is home to around 9,100 residents, about 26km north-west of Sydney CBD, straddling The Hills Shire and the City of Parramatta. The name is older than the name Parramatta itself: in 1789, when the settlement was still called Rose Hill, Governor Phillip reserved land to the north of it, describing the reserve as extending as far as "the North Rocks." The area was also once known as Jerusalem Rocks.
Today the suburb's hub is North Rocks Shopping Centre on North Rocks Road, first built in the 1970s and substantially redeveloped in 2019. The suburb is also known for its bushland, with Bidjigal Reserve and Hunts Creek Reserve wrapping much of its northern and western edge.
From here it's about 7km / 15 min drive (est.) to Crestwood High School's oval in Baulkham Hills, where Football Collective trains.

Local tips
What North Rocks is known for
A quiet, leafy family suburb with one of the oldest recorded place-names in the Hills District.
An ancient name for Sydney
"The North Rocks" was recorded by Governor Phillip in 1789, before Parramatta itself had shed its original name of Rosehill.
Bushland on the doorstep
North Rocks Dam Reserve along Hunts Creek gives the suburb a strong parks-and-bushland character despite its central location.
Balaka Falls and Bidjigal Reserve
Hunts Creek Reserve hides a waterfall, and Bidjigal Reserve brings sandstone cliffs and eucalypt forest right to the suburb's edge.
