About the area
One of the Hills District's oldest and largest suburbs
Castle Hill is the largest of the nine suburbs Football Collective serves, with a population of around 40,900. First settled in 1802, it's one of the oldest communities in the Hills District, about 32km north-west of Sydney CBD and split between The Hills Shire and Hornsby Shire.
Its commercial heart is Castle Towers, one of the largest shopping centres in NSW, currently undergoing a major expansion. Castle Hill Metro Station, opened in 2019, gives direct access to Chatswood and the Sydney CBD. From here it's about 4km / 7 min drive (est.) to Crestwood High School's oval in Baulkham Hills, where Football Collective trains.
Castle Hill also holds a significant place in Australian history: it was the site of the 1804 convict rebellion, the first major uprising in colonial Australia, commemorated today at Castle Hill Heritage Park on Heritage Park Drive, listed on the NSW State Heritage Register.
